The cold weather can be very harsh on babies and kids’ delicate skin. It can cause lots of dryness that leads to redness, eczema, chapped skin/lips and itchy red patches. It can be very annoying for parents to deal with. My son’s hands used to be so dry and it would start to crack and become painful for him.
There are so many moisturizers and baby oils out there that it is pretty hard to find a natural yet effective one. In fact, a lot of baby oils in the market contains petroleum-based mineral oil which isn’t exactly what I want to apply on my kids every day.
After trying many different products, I have found these two combo work the best. You can use them alone or like me, I use them as a combo. It works amazingly on my kids’ face and hands.
This baby oil is simply lovely. It uses a mix of organic coconut, jojoba, and sunflower seed oils, this natural oil soothes and softens skin for a comforting, calming experience. The formula—safe for newborns and up—absorbs easily without ever feeling greasy.
I use it both on my kids’ body and face, but since they are not babies anymore, I use it mostly on their face. Sometimes I would use it to give my daughter (two year old) a good body massage with it.
This cream is scent free and makes your baby/kid’s skin velvety soft. It uses calendula extract to sooth the skin and almond oil to moisturize and protect the skin. It is not very sticky and can be easily applied.
I find that my kids’ faces are really dry in the winter and so I actually combined the oil with the face cream together. I just squirt some baby oil and cream on my palm and mix it and then apply it all over their little faces and hands. It really helps to lock the moisture in and keeps their skin hydrated all day.
Many moms have been telling me their kids have super dry skin and eczema in the winter, so I just wanted to share what is working for me.
You can purchase the face cream on Amazon or local health food store. You can get the Beautycounter baby oil from my affiliate site or simply get in touch with me to help you order.
Hopefully this post helps you. Let me know if you have any questions.
